Shelf life of Defibtech Lifeline electrodes
The electrodes in Defibtech Lifeline pads contain conductive gel, which can dry out over time, which is why all electrodes have an expiration date. After this date, the electrodes should no longer be used. Ensure that your AED is always ready for use by having an unopened set of electrodes with a valid expiration date. The Lifeline adult electrodes have a shelf life of approximately two years. The expiration date can be found on a sticker on the back of the package.
Defibtech Lifeline Electrode Storage and Self-Test
The electrodes can be easily stored in the slot on the back of the AED. The cable can be neatly placed in the special cavity, and the plug can only be connected in one way. When performing a self-test, the AED gives an error message if no electrodes are connected. Do not forget to replace the 9V Lithium battery for the self-test annually, which can easily be ordered with the Defibtech Lifeline Lithium battery 9V.
If you see error 105 on your Defibtech Lifeline AED, press and hold the green button for approximately 5 seconds to clear the error. The AED will perform a self-test and accept the new pads.
