Why training with an AED trainer makes the difference
Practicing on a manikin is one thing, but working with a defibrillator's interface adds a crucial layer of realism. An AED trainer allows you to run through different scenarios, such as one where a shock is advised versus one where it isn't. This teaches you to blindly trust the device's voice prompts.
Brand specific or universal?
At AEDwijzer we distinguish between two types of trainers:
- Brand specific trainers:These look exactly like real defibrillators from brands like Philips, Zoll, or Physio-Control. They have the same buttons, voice, and instructions, making them ideal for in-house training.
- Universal trainers:These are often more affordable and can simulate different AED types. They are ideal for instructors who train many different groups.
Maintaining your training equipment
Don't forget that an AED trainer also requires maintenance. Unlike a real AED, trainers often run on standard batteries that you need to replace more often due to intensive use. You also need new ones regularly.training electrodesnecessary, because the adhesive layer on a resuscitation doll wears out with frequent use.
