Specially designed for children from 1 to 8 years old
Special pads are used for children aged 1 to 8 years or weighing less than 25 kg. Philips has developed an innovative Child Key for the FRx AED. This key easily inserts into the AED and is used in conjunction with the adult pads. Once the Child Key is inserted, the AED automatically switches to Baby/Child Mode, which reduces shock volume and provides optional CPR coaching for infants and children.
Durability and features of the child key
The FRx Child Key has no expiration date and can be inserted into the AED at any time. After use, the key is reusable. However, it's important to follow the expiration date of the adult electrodes, which have a shelf life of two years due to the conductive gel, which can dry out. Once this date has passed, new electrodes must be inserted into the AED. Always ensure that an unopened electrode cartridge with an unbroken vacuum seal is connected before use.
Features of the child key:
- Reusable
- No expiration date
- Can be stored in a special key compartment in the carrying bag
