Philips Heartstart FRx AED baby/child key

Specially designed for children from 1 to 8 years old

Special pads are used for children aged 1 to 8 years or weighing less than 25 kg. Philips has developed an innovative Child Key for the FRx AED. This key can be easily inserted into the AED and is used in conjunction with the adult pads. Once the Child Key is inserted, the AED automatically switches to Baby/Child mode, which reduces shock volume and provides optional CPR coaching for infants and children.

Shelf life and features of the child key

The FRx Child Key has no expiration date and can be inserted into the AED at any time. After use, the key is reusable. However, it is important to follow the expiration date of the adult pads, which have a shelf life of 2 years due to the conductive gel that can dry out. Once this date has passed, new pads must be inserted into the AED. Always have an unopened pads cartridge with an unbroken vacuum seal attached before use.
